33 awesome children at Petit Anges De Jacmel (Little Angels of Jacmel are looking to get to school this year! Schooling in Haiti is a privilege and is expensive. Safe in the Arms of Jesus is a non-profit organization that funds this orphanage and we need help raising money for tution this year! They were not able to attend school the first week because we didn't have any money raised. They started the second week (this week) but without uniforms or any school books.
Tuition for the kids this year is as follows:
Tuition - $4,769.00
Books - $1,468.40
Uniforms - $581.00
I know it seems like a lot of money but split up between 33 children works out to be just about $207/child. School is such an important part of a childs life in general and in Haiti it is really important because that's how they can make something of themselves.
Earlier this year, we raised funds for a school bus for the orphanage. This way the children were able to all ride on the bus to school and we didn't have to pay for alternative means of transportation. Which brought down the amount of money we have to fundraise. The children, Pastor Placide (who runs the orphanage) and myself are so very appreciative of any help that we receive. You will receive a tax donation letter since we are a non-profit. We do not keep anything for ourselves, everything goes right to the children at the orphanage. Thank you so much for helping! You have no idea how much it helps and makes a childs life so much better. These children appreciate something that so many of us take for granted. You truly are making a difference!
