Bullying prevention advocate Sirdeaner Walker has been battling cancer for more than a year. Unable to work, the single mother of four can no longer afford to pay for her daughter Gloria to participate on a gymnastics team.
Sirdeaner pays $300/month for Gloria to compete in the sport she loves. I'd like to raise enough money so that Sirdeaner can cover at least a year's worth of gymnastics.
Sirdeaner lost her son Carl to suicide 5 years ago after he was bullied relentlessly at school and called "gay" and "fag." Sirdeaner, who is a Board Member of GLSEN, has dedicated her life to speaking out against bullying and encouraging schools to take action to create a culture of respect for all people.
I've gotten the chance to get to know Sirdeaner through GLSEN over the past 5 years, and she is one of the most amazing and inspirational people I've ever met. When I heard she needed help, I decided to start this page. All of the money raised will go directly to Sirdeaner.
