Single Mother Lost All in Home Fire
Donation protected
If you can envision someone with a positive attitude, full of compassion and the most cheerful disposition, then you can imagine our dear Melissa. She’s that person who is always willing to somehow, in some small or gigantic way, help others. Now, it’s time for all of us to lend her a helping hand in this time of crisis.
Melissa was at work when she received a phone call from the Bonita Fire Department informing her that her apartment was on fire. She frantically drove home trembling with fear the entire way, “I could barely hold on to the steering wheel, I was shaking so badly” she recounted. Her main concern being for family members who were in the apartment. Mercifully, her mom and brother made it out of the blazing fire unharmed. When she arrived at her apartment the fire was still consuming all of her worldly possessions, a fireman told her “it’s a complete loss, but we were able to save this.” He handed her a photo album of her daughter’s baby pictures and box of her beloved nana’s photos. Meli couldn’t hold back, tears quickly flooded her eyes, they are, and continue to be, her most valuable belongings.
Practically, however, Melissa needs everyday essentials: clothes for work and casual wear, winter coat, shoes, socks, underclothing, toiletries, towels, linens, cosmetics, accessories, mattress, pillows, kitchen essentials, etc. Let’s pull together and help her out, anything you can donate will be extremely appreciated.
We will make sure to keep you updated on Melissa’s status and what she puts donations towards, thank you. Help us get the word out, share this link to your Facebook Timeline.
Meli and her 15 yo Daughter Italia:
Melissa has requested that I handle the withdrawals for the campaign. So, I'll be withdrawing the funds into my own account, and will be delivering a check to her in person.
