Hi my name is Christina Hunt, I am organizing this Gofundme on behalf of my father Christopher Hunt who unfortunately is a victim of a random South Seattle shooting early December 10th. My father had just pulled over to talk on the phone with a friend of his near 3600 block of South Adams Street when a man with a gun approached him. The shooter fired at least 30 times, striking him 8 times. Thankfully a bystander heard the shots, found him and drove him to Harborview Medical Center where he was treated and taken into surgery. He has had 2 surgeries and 3 bullets will remain in his body forever.
Chris is a loving, hardworking 54 year old single father to my 9 year old sister Shianne who he worked extremely hard to gain custody of.
My father was just at the wrong place at the wrong time and it has completely changed his life forever. He will be in a rehab facility for the next 6 months so our little sister will be in the care of family members. My father was doing uber/doordash to get by and kept Shianne in after school programs.
We are asking for help with childcare expenses and her daily needs, she is 9 years old and her life has been completely turned upside overnight. Our family is coming together to support my father and Shianne in this difficult time we don't want my father to have to worry about how he's going to rebuild his life we want him to fully focus on healing and physical therapy. Our goal is to help him relocate to a handicap unit, to be able to provide him with an electric wheelchair so that he can keep up with his 9 year old as he did before, medical expenses, bills, Shiannes needs, 24 hour care, and just to get by for the next couple of months while he's in physical therapy and recovering from this horrible situation. Anything at all is helpful and greatly appreciated.
