Singing opportunity of a lifetime

As many of you know, I am an artist and a singer in addition to being a Realtor here in Santa Fe.

I sing as both a soloist and chorister. I’ve sung with many groups and currently sing with the Sangre de Cristo Chorale .

Music is an enormous part of my life, as is my painting .
Also, part of my ancient history is being a graduate of St. John’s, which helped fuel a lifelong love of learning, including a complete passion and fascination for the Renaissance.

Amazingly, and to my great joy and surprise, I have been invited to sing with a group of New Mexicans in Florence, Italy this June. We will be joining choruses from across the United States in performing the Requiem Mass composed and conducted by John Rutter in a performance at The Basilica di Santa Croce in Florence on June 4th.

I can’t say this is a lifelong dream, as it never occurred to me that I could do anything this challenging. When I was invited to join the group, something opened up for me – the possibility of travel and adventure, something I’ve never attempted before. I’ve been quite ill over the last three years, especially with back trouble that has severely limited by mobility. I didn’t think I would ever be able to explore the world. But with this invitation, suddenly, all my focus has been on getting to Italy, on singing in this incredible Franciscan church with one of the world’s greatest living composers.

I most humbly ask for your support of me in achieving my dream. The cost of this trip is high – I need more than $5,000 to participate. Any amount, no matter how small, that you feel you can donate, would be so helpful and I would be eternally grateful.
