Sinai Refugee Resettlement Project
Temple Sinai, Brookline, MA, has created the Sinai Resettlement Project to organize an effort to sponsor a Syrian refugee family to come to our community with the technical and administrative support of Jewish Family Services of Metrowest. JFS, along with the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) have invited our temple to be a synagogue partner to provide support for one of several refugee families being resettled through the Greater Boston/Metrowest Jewish community, many of whom are already here. Our temple is next in line to be assigned a family and we anticipate it will happen in the near future. We have learned that a family of five may be moving here sometime this summer!
Our goal is to raise $36,000 to support rent and other tangibles for their first year in our country.
