Simple Pleasures Ice Café is a veteran and family owned and operated homemade ice cream manufacturer and retailer. We have been handcrafting delicious homemade ice cream and other frozen confections in Prince George’s County for over twenty years. Our business conceptualized after operating mobile ice cream cart units in Florida and living in Europe for ten years, enjoying some of the best ice cream and desserts. Embracing the European confectionary culture, our family decided to bring these sweet delights to the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Since we have been in business we have received enthusiastic reviews from the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, PG Suite, Gazette-Star, Bowie Blade-News, and selected as 2014 Small Business of the Year for Bowie (Maryland).
The goal of Simple Pleasures Ice Cafe has always been to provide superior hormone-free, pesticide-free, antibiotic-free ice cream, plant-based fruit sorbets/popsicles, and excellent service in its delivery to everyone who enjoys great ice cream and other frozen treats. In an effort to enhance our product selection and availability, we must increase our production capacity. This requires the purchase of batch machines, depositors, blast freezers, and other items needed to meet the increased demand from our longtime, recent, and expanding new customers.
These high cost equipment items are necessary to increase our scale of production and improve our ability to produce more of our delicious ice cream for more customers.
We need your help. While we do have some equipment capital available, we don’t have nearly enough. We need more money to purchase more equipment, to make more delicious ice cream for more wonderful people. Another benefit of this increased production capacity is increased employment opportunities for local citizens.
