Lisa June (Fricano) Parkinson, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day. She leaves behind her husband Matt and daughters Sienna (age 6) and Mia (age 4). Donations in Lisa's memory may be made to contribute to the financial support of Sienna and Mia.
Born in Glendale, Wisconsin, Lisa received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Recreation from Indiana University, Bloomington, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. She received an MBA from University of Denver. At the time of her death, Lisa was employed by the U.S. Navy (SPAWAR) as a budget financial manager. She was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed snowboarding, surfing, golf, and biking. In addition, Lisa loved travel and was a creative artist and a marvelous cook. She was also a member of the Junior League and held a single engine aircraft pilot’s license. She was a bright light in the life of her loved ones. A natural leader with a clear-eyed view of the world, she was always the one to take control of situations and organize events for friends and family. With her sense of humor and adventurous spirit, there was never a dull moment in Lisa’s company. Lisa was a loving wife and mother who put her family above all else. A celebration of Lisa’s life is being planned for a later date.
In addition to her husband and daughters, Lisa leaves behind her brother James Fricano and his wife Gail, her brother-in-law Aaron Parkinson and his wife Fabia, her parents-in-law Jeffrey and Janice Parkinson, her nieces and nephew Audrey and Amelia Fricano and Vivian and Benjamin Parkinson, and many dear friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Anthony and June (Smith) Fricano.
