Siempre Verde Financial Recovery Fund

Hello this is Maira and Alvaro we are Dance/Movement artists and body workers who share a cozy apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn (Residencia Siempre Verde). Unfortunately, like many other people, due to the covid-19 crisis and in order to practice social distancing we remain unable to keep doing our work since we require physical presence and interaction. We find ourselves in a very challenging economic situation full of uncertainty, not knowing when activities will resume with regularity. As independent artists and body based workers we are resilient and always finding ways to reinvent ourselves in a system that has already very limited resources for us even when business is running as usual.
Right now we are in need of using this platform to ask you to contribute to our recovery fund (for those who can) , any amount will be much appreciated.

Alvaro as EstadoFlotante will be launching a trilogy of 15-20min live Video Performances at different spaces in our apartment called "OUT OF SPACE" in  Collaboration with TinyTigerMedia and Maira Duarte aka Lac. Creme.
This is a way for us to explore a different medium for live performance since the stage is not a possibility at the moment but still need to keep ourselves working and open to the possibilities that the current context presents.

I invite you to virtually attend our performances on Fridays May 8, 15, 22 at 9pm on the link:

About Residencia Siempre Verde: we live in a very cozy 2 1/2 bedroom apartment where we host artists in need for a place to stay when they are visiting for an specific gig, course, research trip, residency, etc. Usually by invitation or known contacts.

A few of them have been:

Laura Paloma Monzon (Dance)
Carlo Olmos Carrillo (Video Production)
Miu Soda (Dance, Entertainment)
Taylor Derwin (Prop Master)
Ava Vex (Music artist, DJ)
Slow Danger (dance, Music )
Xandra Ibarra (Perfomance, Visual arts)
Ansgar Pruewer (theater Design)

Residencia Siempre Verde hosts seasonal theme performance parties in our backyard where we invite artists to experiment in the outdoors, our first season started with:

"Nature wedding" Friday, may 24th, 2019

"Technology Destroy" Sunday June 9th, 2019

"Forest Lost" Saturday Sept 14th, 2019

We clearly care about the space we live in, and we nurture it through  our practice as much as the space nurtures us.

We appreciate your support in helping us to be able to afford to stay and stabilize our economic situation through this crisis.

with deep gratitude and wishing you Love and health
