Sicilian Strays Need You

Sicily has a stray population of over half a million stray dogs, and nothing is truly being done to help them or run preventative care. However, there is a small, family team (mum and her two daughters) who have made it their life's mission to help save the stray dogs of Sicily.

But they need your help to keep the dogs fed, vet checked, microchipped, neutered and in their incredible shelter!

I became involved with this family when a 6 month old stray fell into my life when in Sicily. Francesca has taken care of him since, and I have since been back on a photography mission to capture the dogs and the work done to save them!

Francesca and her two girls feed street dogs, do daily checks and searches to make sure the stray dogs are as healthy as can be, take in any injured, pregnant or emaciated dogs, arrange vet checks, arrange neutering, and desperately try to rehome any dogs (and now cats) that they can! 

What I am hoping is that with your help, we can raise some funds to help them along the way. And I want you to tell me where you want this money to go to - food, vet bills, maintenance of the shelter, dog blankets and beds/toys etc.

I will post the receipts and keep you updated on all the ways in which the donations have helped.

Any help is really appreciated! It would mean the world to Francesca and mostly to all the strays they have helped rescue and save from certain death.

I will be heading to Sicily in MARCH OR APRIL, where I will purchase the vet meds, food, beds, toys and more, depending on how you choose to see the donations used. I will provide proof of receipts. These dogs and cats need all the love they can get!
