Shurie Tafoya's Fight for Recovery

Shurie Tafoya is a 57 year old single mother of 3 boys and also my little sister. Her youngest boy, Kyle is still at home with one more year of high school before he graduates. In late October, Shurie began experiencing debilitating headaches. On Friday, November 1st, she was at her last day of training for her new position as a recruiter when she began having double vision in her right eye and soon was unable to open her eye lid. She drove herself to the emergency hospital in Loma Linda and was diagnosed with an aneurysm affecting her optic nerve, needing two immediate emergency brain surgeries.
So many people have asked how they can help so we set up this Go Fund Me account. All money raised will go toward her household expenses including her utilities and care for her and Kyle. Donations, no matter how small, are greatly appreciated. Shurie has a long road ahead of her and with your help we can make that road a lot more manageable so she can recover. Those of you who know Shurie know she is a fighter, having survived breast cancer and a mastectomy in 2017.
When she was released from the hospital after her recent brain surgeries, her neurosurgeon told her she needed time to recover in a stress free environment. In order for her to do this, her worries about just being able to live from day to day need to be temporarily lifted from her shoulders. Shurie lives in the San Bernardino mountains where they were snowed in at Thanksgiving. It is very cold without gas and electricity and both utilities are scheduled for shutoff unless the bills are paid. This request is urgent.
