Help Keep the Shugyokan Open

 My Story
First and foremost, we are extremely grateful to all of you who have continued to assist us. Your financial aid has kept the dojo standing, allowing us to serve its members for the time being. The pandemic has created such havoc throughout the nation. We have seen good, respectable dojo's forced to shut down for good. Even long standing dojo's have had to throw in the towel.
That's a heart wrenching moment to hear for some of us.

Some may ask, "What's the big deal?
Shut it down and open it again.

Unfortunately it's easier said than done.. It takes a lot of sacrifices and the logistics to start again is a nightmare. Most people do not realize that a real karate dojo has never been a business for profit.

What's so special about the Shugyokan?
Well, in a few words, this dojo has been a pivotal ground zero to many students. We have watched kids grow, some who started with us at a very young age and are now attending college. Loeffler Sensei looks at each student individually and determines how to best help them.

He goes beyond teaching how to be physically strong and how to defend themselves. He teaches leadership, assertiveness, compassion, fairness, having a true purpose for the sake of humanity and many more virtues that they need in their lives.

Asking for donations can be quite intimidating to Loeffler Sensei. He has never been one to ask for anything, but he saw the magnitude required to keep the Shugyokan standing for the past, present and future students. His current employment status is still in limbo since March. He is against asking for handouts from government and private sectors (loans). Even with a small amount of cash he earns from providing private lessons goes straight to the dojo.

For 15 years this dojo has kept its prices ridiculously low. Belts and rank certificates were given free of charge. We even provided loaner sparring gear to those who could not afford it.

How You Can Help
We humbly ask you to assist and continually help us in keeping this wonderful place a chance to make it through this crazy time. No amount is too small for us. Every little act is highly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

PS: Please help us spread this in your social media.

Thank you again,
Robert Garcia
