Welcome to our Campaign!
Showtime Productions is back and taking a giant leap of faith! We are so excited to be producing our first major independent film. Collateral Damage: The Ambassadors Ball and we need your help!
We are only $5000.000 away from our goal and we need your help to turn this vision in to reality.
With your help, we plan to shoot this film in mid-November, move into post-production in December and January, host a huge premier viewing of this film and then begin submitting Collateral Damage: The Ambassadors Ball to film festivals around the world.
The Ambassadors Ball is a short film piece but lives in a similar style and tone as a full feature film written and developed by Showtime Productions. It is our hope that by creating this lovely short film we will be able to continue to develop the support, team, and creation of the feature film. Directed by the Award winning up and coming director, Johnny Sizemore and Award winning Writer/Producer Kerrick Greer as the creative consultant, Collateral Damage: The Ambassadors Ball is a beautiful film that will leave a deep impression. Dealing with deep grief, delusion, and the struggle that comes with this emotional baggage, the story also weaves in the kindness of family and how facing a dark reality can bring light.
It raises awareness around mental health and is a story about hope, connection and how the smallest interactions, or gestures of care and kindness can leave lasting impressions and even change a person's life.Who are we?
Showtime Productions is an urban entertainment company full of energetic and daring individuals who are committed to creating, developing, and producing art in its purest form. It is our aspiration to make theatre & film more relevant in the lives of every nationality, culture and background. Based off the inspiring and encouraging reception from our patrons and critics, Showtime productions has proven theatre and film has the power to engage, inspire and unite communities. What is The complete Collateral Damage Series about?
The tragic death of beloved councilman, Charles Bradford, has shattered his family into a million pieces. The devastation of this loss sends his family in different directions. Nearly three years later Camille, his youngest daughter, has returned home to prepare for the happiest day of her life. On the day she is going to marry her long-time soulmate, Dallas Grey, there is only one thing that is missing to make this the perfect day, and that's her father. Danielle, her best friend, has taken on the responsibility of planning the wedding. Everything is set and in place, but an unexpected surprise comes out of nowhere that threatens to rock this family at its core once again. What happens when buried secrets come back to life and all of a sudden everyone connected to this family becomes collateral damage as a result of one person's detrimental mistake.WHY NOW?
There is a lot going on these days! Our communities often feel under attack, global issues are overwhelming and sometimes life just feels too big, too much for any of us to do anything about it. The ongoing fight to protect our basic civil rights, our planet and each other often leaves us tired and hopeless. Rather than give up, we keep going, finding better ways to take care of ourselves and each other.
But this story is about someone who is on the brink. Mental illness is real. Depression and loneliness have affected us all. Anxiety has grown to be one of the world's most common mental conditions. Finding treatments or even identifying there is a problem may go unnoticed for far too long. This is why we share this story now. The more we highlight those moments of struggle or difficult times when not everything is "okay" the more we will cultivate a society of patience and compassion.
It's important to recognize that sometimes we all need a little extra help. It's important to feel that we can all ask for it. And it's important to take a second out of our busy lives to look over and check in with a friend, a co-worker, a brother, a mother and just ask "how 'ya doing?"
Real moments of connection can save lives. Taking time to take care can redefine an experience. This story is small in scope. It exists between a group of people in one room. But small things can lead to big changes. This is what we know and what we hope to share with each of you.
At the end of the day, we are all in this together doing our best to get by.Where the money will go:
