Laundry & Shower Trailers for homeless in Salem

Tax deductible

Habitat and Hope Village, Inc. (HHV) has decided to close its GoFundMe campaign to purchase and donate shower and laundry trailers to serve those experiencing homelessness in the Salem, Oregon area and instead strongly urges those interested in addressing homelessness in this region to donate directly to Church at the Park which is a non-profit service provider with experience in homeless outreach since 2007. Church at the Park is at the forefront of establishing "Managed Micro Shelter Communities" in the Salem region under contract with the City of Salem. A "Managed Micro Shelter Community" is an emergency intervention designed to help unsheltered individuals move from homelessness to stability. In contrast to an unmanaged camp, a Managed Micro Shelter Community is safe, sanitary, and supported.

Church at the Park has recently opened its latest micro shelter community on Center Street in Salem. The organization is also re-developing its shelter community on Turner Road in Salem and expects to bring online an additional micro shelter site in the city in 2023. The organization seeks donor support for the development of both micro shelters and mobile laundry/shower facilities to serve those sheltering at these sites.

Please join us in our individual efforts to make a real difference in the quality of life of our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to many. Donations can be made directly to churchatthepark.org.
