Hello, my name is Garvin Eastman and I'm from Bridgewater, NH. As you've probably all seen in the various news outlets, Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico last week. Here is a link to a recent news story about the conditions there: “Hysteria is starting to spread” This was a "once in a lifetime" storm and it has essentially decimated the island. The electric grid, transportation and communications have all been severly impacted along with access to fresh food, clean water and fuel. This is setting the scene for a looming humanitarian crisis.
What you may not know is that I work with a gentleman whose family and friends are struggling to survive this natural disaster. Louis Torres joined the Concord Hospital family, and my team, last year. He's given his heart and soul to help better our organization. I've created this GoFundMe account on behalf of Louis and his loved ones, let's see what we can accomplish if we come together to support the ongoing relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
I will work with Louis to assure ALL funds raised are allocated directly to helping the people of Puerto Rico. I will plan to withdraw funds raised within 1-2 weeks and give them directly to a specific aid organization, yet to be determined, that working is working directly with the people of Puerto Rico.
