Show Love for Doug Canestrari

Attention healthcare employees, EMS, Sheriffs departments and everyone who loves the people that work in those fields! It’s time to help one of our own. Doug and Jenni Canestrari are two of the nicest people you have ever met. They would do anything for anyone. I met both of them while working at UTMCK. Jenni is a Trauma nurse working part time and obtaining her BSN, Doug works EMS.  On September 24th Doug underwent a major abdominal surgery that until yesterday (10/7) was believed to have been healing well. However, last night he was taken to the emergency department and brought up to the OR for emergent surgery. During that surgery he became extremely unstable at which point the surgery was stopped and he was brought back to the ICU on life support until he is stable enough to complete the surgery. The physicians and nurses are working diligently to help him pull through this. His wife Jenni remains at his side as much as she can.

Unfortunately, with Doug not working and with 5 children, the bills will pile up. Christmas is also right around the corner, and their son is a type 1 diabetic. These supplies and medications are not cheap.  Of course Jenni would never ask for help. As her friend, I will ask for her. I know that there is always a new foundation or fund to give money to. However, I want to to impress the point that these are two people that have dedicated their entire lives to serving others. Now is the time that we should come together and seriously consider donating to someone who has shown love to the general public and the needy everyday of their life. Even if it’s just the $5 that you would have spent on Starbucks, it will be received with so much love. If you don’t have any extra dollars to spare that’s ok! You can help too!
