Shishkabots Robotics Championship

We are Team 6822, The Shishkabots, a first-year robotics team from San Jose and we want more than anything to get the chance to participate in the FIRST FRC World Championship in Houston on April 18-21.
Our 14 member community team is comprised of 8 boys and 6 girls, who collaborated for six weeks at the beginning of this year to build a functioning robot from scratch. Under limited resources and scarce direction from a mentor, we built our brand and designed our robot to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors.
65 teams competed at the Sacramento Regional this weekend, but against all odds, we were able to win the Rookie All-Star Award, a great honor which allowed our team to go to the world championships in a month. Being able to go to the world championships is such an unbelievable and rare opportunity and we feel so blessed to experience it in our very first year. Unfortunately, we cannot afford to carry on without the support from our community to aid us in airfare, shipping, housing, and food costs for 15-20 people. Our goal is to win the Rookie All-Star Award at the World Championships as well, resulting in the title of #1 rookie team in the world. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our team and travelling to the Championship is, for most of us, a dream come true.
