I am "Shilpa Ghatol ~ Ms. Asia Oregon 2019", starting this fund raiser in association with 'Ravishing Women - Non Profit Organization For Empowering Women' for Flood Relief in Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara districts of Maharashtra state in India.
As a Title holder and Community servant leader this is my responsibility to serve for and give back to community, So I am taking this initiative to help needy people who are flood victims and they need our support and care.
Heavy rains since the beginning of August in parts of Maharashtra, including Kolhapur, Sangli, Thane and Pune have increased water levels in rivers and dams, resulting in a flood situation.
On 6th August these Floods affected western Maharashtra and it continues to affect the region, as updated on 14th August 2019 by global crisis reporting agency up to 49 individuals have been killed in Maharashtra area and government sources reporting that the death toll is likely to increase, roughly 60 individuals through out the area remain missing. Approximately 448,000 people have reportedly been evacuated with 372 shelters open across the state. Of these , 2.47 lakh people were from Kolhapur and 1.85 lakh people were evacuated from Sangli, along with this NH 4 highway was closed about for a week due to heavy water flow and this caused troubles in travel of heavy vehicles like food , oil , milk , vegetable carriers for flood relief and other functionalities across the highway were disturbed. As of now 135 roads and more than 60 bridges in these districts remain closed for traffic.Around 476 villages and around 2 lakh families in western Maharashtra are affected by these flood situations.Presently 105 relief teams comprising of NDRF,SDRF,Army,Navy and Coastguard units are engaged in relief work in theses areas.
Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara have been severely affected by the floods with many rescue operations underway. People in these cities are major victims of floods, they have lost everything their homes, farms, schools everything was under water and their lives are still shattered.Many schools are affected due to floods their buildings , infrastructure everything shed away due to flood water, students lost their books, study materials. Schools remain close due to floods. Many Local foundations and volunteers like RSS , Sakal Foundation, Maharashtra Mukhya Mantri funds etc are working for flood reliefs.
I want to be a part of small help for these flood reliefs by collecting funds.

Funds raised through this campaign will go to the Ravishing Women Non profits account and the funds will be transferred to "Rashtritya Swayam Seva Sangh and Janseva samiti Kolhapur " foundations official bank account and from there the authorities will use the funds to buy needy things like medicines, drinking Water, clothes and basic needs , also some volunteers will buy the school essentials for students and distributing to them directly in affected areas and schools.
In this way our help will reach to the flood victims in these cities.
