Shiller Strong

Our Brother James “Jimmy” Shiller is suffering from complications associated with his treatment of Cancer and needs our immediate support. Jimmy, a 25 year member of the Fairfield Fire Department,  current Secretary of IAFF Local 1426, and dedicated father to his 9 year old daughter (Angie), has fallen severely ill while visiting in Juniper, Florida. Jimmy was transported by air to Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital where he is currently sedated and hooked up to a life saving “ECMO” machine that circulates and oxygenates his blood to sustain necessary life support until his body can maintain on its own.

It is times like these that make you realize how precious life can be and to give thanks when you have the chance. Jim's situation developed very quickly and there is no doubt the story could have been much worse. Jimmy still has a long road to recovery but with each little improvement we are hopeful that he will be back home here in Connecticut soon.

During this difficult time, Jimmy and his family will face many challenges. Our goal is to alleviate as much of the financial burden as possible for them. We ask that you keep Jim and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Jim always has been and always will be a fighter, we have no doubt he will come out on top in this fight as well.
