Shettleston Public Defibrillator

Donation protected
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Shettleston defibrillator fundraising page.

My motivation for raising the requested funds are that on the 31/12/21 at around 1600hrs outside Robertson’s pharmacy on Shettleston Road I seen an elderly male collapse and fall into cardiac arrest. Pharmacy staff started CPR almost straight away whilst members of public started dialling 999, running over to the police office and the doctors surgery etc, meanwhile CPR is still being carried out. The police arrive on scene and assist with CPR followed by a doctor from the health centre who arrived with a defibrillator. But by then an ambulance had arrived on scene and he left again.

The male was rushed to hospital and taken to intensive care where I believe he died on the Saturday (New Years Day).

My personal believes are that if a defibrillator was to hand he could have made it, sadly there wasn’t.

It has been confirmed by Police Scotland at Shettleston police office there is no defibrillator within the building and I am working with them to have one placed on the exterior of the building close to their front door for safe keeping, (not confirmed as yet).

I have contacted David Linden MP and will contact John Mason in the near future for assistance, funds and help getting the defibrillator placed somewhere.

Also I have loads of journalists willing to write articles about this to help get it out there.

Again everyone thank you so much for reading and taking your time to donate, you never know it could be you needing this vital life saving equipment next !
