I am starting this GoFundMe me page for my Mom, SHEILA BOSWELL. She was diagnosed with Cancer in February and has just begun her fight. Here is some background info on her for those who may not know. She has been a Nurse for over 35 years. She even worked 2 jobs at times to provide for those she loved. Somehow, she still found time to be an amazing cook and seamstress, and help care for her 92 year old parents. She can make a dress, a quilt, a purse, a tent, or anything else that requires sewing ( I think every family member has something she has made just for them)! She loves escaping town for some good old fashion camping and hiking too. At 66 years old Shelia is still a daughter, a mother, step mother, grandmother, and devoted wife. She is still madly in love with her husband Michael Boswell of 26 years.
Sadly, she was recently diagnosed with metastatic bone cancer. This has broken our hearts, but we have fought through this before as a family. She beat breast cancer over 5 years ago after a mastectomy and some brutal chemotherapy. In spite of this, her positive attitude remains and is inspiring and infectious! Here she is again facing metastatic cancer and this time around she wants to avoid the uglyness of Chemotherapy. Instead, she is going to Irvine to, “Center for New Medicine and Cancer Center for Healing” http://www.cfnmedicine.com/cancer-center-for-healing/. She has also been looking into UCLA for Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) http://radonc.ucla.edu/sbrt . We have been given quotes of costs between $40,000 to $80,000 which is more then she can afford. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the cost for alternate cancer treatment. Our desire is to help offset my Mom’s costs as much as possible. Stress does not promote healing and our goal is to create a healing environment. We are making the appointments trusting God will provide and that He will heal her through these treatments or any other way He sees fit.
My mother has always been a rock in our family and it is our turn to be a rock for her. We ask for your support in her fight against cancer in any way possible. If you can phone her to encourage her, pray for/with her, write her a letter or email, text a scriptural verse or inspiring story, or help financially for her treatments ( as little as $5 will go to pay for her medical treatments, every little bit counts ).
