Sheila Katzman's Health Expences

Donation protected
Some of you may not know that Sheila has been dealing with and struggling with some major health issues since November of 2013. If you don't know Sheila, she is a beloved 5th grade teacher at Kruse Elementary and lives with her husband and her two teenage sons in Fort Collins, CO. Being the person that Sheila is, and doing her best to hide her issues, all with a beautiful smile on her face, many people do not know the extent of her struggles. In 2013 Sheila was diagnosed with compartment syndrome, which is a very painful and dangerous syndrome in her legs. Most people that are diagnosed with compartment syndrome are diagnosed with this syndrome in 1 or 2 compartments in 1 leg, but Sheila was diagnosed with it in all 4 compartments in both legs. This makes it extremely hard to do everyday activities as well as teach her students. Sheila had surgery on New Year's Eve 2013 to open up the compartments. After surgery, Sheila came back to teach 2 weeks later. After 9 months of meeting with multiple doctors, intense rehab and physical therapy, Sheila had not healed from surgery and her legs were not better. After meeting with doctors, and getting rejected from the Mayo Clinic, the recommendation was to meet with a cardiologist. After meeting with the cardiologist, they determined Sheila needed a PFO heart closure, which she had in November 2014. This seemed to help the issues, and her legs started feeling better. Unfortunately, in July of 2016 Sheila twisted her foot. After months of being in and out of a walking boot, months of physical therapy, months of dry needling, and acupuncture, Sheila has not gotten better. A few of the Dr’s have recommended that Sheila purchase and use an FSM unit. With almost 4 years of visiting the countless Dr’s, PT’s, hospital facilities and the FSM unit, the expenses have become out of hand and unmanageable. Any help is greatly appreciated. The goal is to raise $7500 as soon as posible so their medical bills can start getting paid and the FSM unit can get purchased to help alleviate the pain in the hopes that Sheila can continue to teach. If you can not donate, please keep Sheila in your thoughts and prayers.
