Sheffield Rangers JFC O'Rourke Park Rebuild

About us, our mission & what we want to achieve:

We are the Sheffield Rangers Junior Football Club, established in 1975. Initially located at O'Rourke Park, Wadsley, our club shifted its base to Jubilee Sports and Social Club on Claywheels Lane in 1999.

The recent enhancements at The Jubilee have provided us with excellent 4G facilities and pitches. However, in order to continue growing as a club, we require additional playing surfaces. The current climate makes pitch hire costs particularly expensive, with each friendly game for different age groups ranging from £50 to £150 per game. Since each age group relies on sponsorships or donations to sustain itself, these pitch fees often strain our teams' resources.

O'Rourke Park, once our club's original home, was generously gifted to us. Unfortunately, due to multiple arson attacks in the late 90s, we made the decision to move to The Jubilee Sports & Social Club. While it has been a welcoming home for Sheffield Rangers JFC, sharing the facilities with other clubs necessitates the need to rebuild O'Rourke Park. This reconstruction will help reduce costs for parents and enable the continuous growth of our club.

More recently, Sheffield Rangers JFC has reintroduced its Girls channel and introduced new "Mini Rangers" and "Lioness" sessions. This focus on building the club from grassroots level allows children as young as 3 years old to participate and become part of Sheffield Rangers. Looking ahead, our long-term goal is to establish a pathway into adult football, ensuring that when players complete their junior football at 16, they have an opportunity to play at a semi-professional level.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of parents, coaches, family members, and committee members who are actively involved in the club's rebuilding process. With your support, we are confident that we can achieve tremendous success in our endeavors.
