Shea has Breast Cancer and it Blows

In May 2018, Shea Mencel found a sizable lump in her breast. After testing, it was confirmed to be malignant. Yes, the "Big C". It's kind of like Voldemort where you're too scared to say the name but maybe by saying it, we make it less scary? Shea was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. Her options at that point were minimal so in August she had a double mastectomy. The procedure went well and the entire lump was removed. However, further testing confirmed a risk of occurrence. At this point, Shea will start four rounds of chemotherapy followed by possible radiation treatment.

Shea and Paul have decided to freeze embryos as infertility could be a side effect of chemotherapy. This treatment is expensive and not covered by insurance. Shea and Paul still have high hopes of beginning a family and are committed to making it possible after this hellish ordeal is over. Any contribution towards these two wonderful humans trudging through the worst possible situation is so appreciated.
