Shawn's Science Summer Camp

I am asking for donations to help my son, Kinshawn Jones, attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Pathways to STEM program. This summer program is for elementary school students interested in exploring future career possibilities within the exciting fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Kinshawn goes to Pilimco Elementary School in Baltimore, Maryland and his teacher nominated him for the program. His dream is to become a scientist or engineer. However, financial assistance is needed for him to participate in NYLF Pathways to STEM and pursue this dream.
Let me share a little bit of Kinshawn’s story, so others will understand how much participating in the NYLF Pathways to STEM would mean. Kinshawn lost his father to gun violence when he was just two years old. At the age of eight, he found his mother deceased in their home. Then he had to adjust to new surroundings, home, and school. He started displaying concerning and troublesome school behaviors, such as being argumentative with staff and non-compliant with rules. With support and time, Kinshawn turned himself around. He is now in the fourth grade and thriving. He loves math and science and gets straight “A”s in his classes. Also, he attends Dream Academy After-school Program were they focus on STEM activities and does a great job.
Kinshawn is eager to learn and enjoys adventures. I would like to keep him on this positive path. Having him attend the NYLF
