Shawn's Leukemia Journey

On Wednesday, July 12, 2017 Shawn was diagnosed with Leukemia Only 53 days after crossing the stage at his Graduation from Centaurus High School.

July 13th Shawn was admitted to Boulder Community Health at Foothills where he officially started his 1st round of chemo therapy. Shawn has now completed 25 consecutive weeks of chemo therapy at the Rocky Mountain Center, Boulder CO. It’s been a long road and we still have a long road ahead but with our plan in place and our entire tribe of family & friends, Shawn is ready to do whatever it takes to KICK CANCERS ASS!!

Our journey will continue to be a day by day process, with the good and bad days mixed in and we’re completely prepared & ready to keep our spirits high and do whatever it takes! We will continue to leave the house when we can, celebrate the little wins, love others as much as we can, pray together, read, laugh, cry, be frustrated, make brownies, Netflix binge, hold hands and keep our hearts open to all the love and prayers that are being sent our way!!

It is a very humbling ( and extremely hard ) thing to ask for help, and yet sometimes it’s what we need to do for our families. Your donation, no matter the size will help with Shawn's ongoing medical expenses and the ability to be home caring for Shawn through the end of his intense chemo treatments. Leah has been on leave from work since day 1 to be home caring for Shawn and will be out of work through mid February. Shawn will also begin maintenance therapy in March involving monthly procedures, which will be necessary for a minimum of 3 years.  No matter the length of time, we will do whatever is necessary to get Shawn living his life to his full potential!
