Shawn's Medical Expenses

     Since birth, Shawn has been treated for numerous health issues involving the gut.  Diverticulitis and Crohn's Disease have created problems severe enough that they have required numerous surgeries since the 90's, and several feet of Shawn's small intestine has been removed.  One particular surgery recently landed Shawn in the ICU, yet we still have no permanent solution for his illness.   Moving from doctor to doctor for decades, we are now desperate for a solution, as Shawn's health is near the worst it has ever been.  His extremely low weight, muscle shakiness, fatigue, anemia, severe depression, and upset stomach are overwhelming. Physically and mentally, these diseases create a daily struggle to perform basic tasks and experience happiness.  He was fortunate enough to be accepted into the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and this is the best shot he has to find a solution and to begin healing.  The Mayo Clinic is renowned for its expertise and quality of care, so we feel we have to find a way to get there. 

     We have no idea how long this trip could be, nor what kind of bill to expect.  We already owe $4,000 in medical bills after insurance, and all of our time and energy has gone into ensuring the growth of our brewery, which neither Shawn nor Becky draw a paycheck from. Becky took on a full time job while pursuing her PhD, but even then the medical expenses are outpacing us. Our business, friends, family, and loved ones all need Shawn to get better, and this is our chance to make that happen.  Many of you have already reached out to offer help brewing, housesitting, etc., and that is a massive help to us right now.  We must also ask for financial help to cover the cost of Shawn's current and future medical bills, travel, lodging, and food.  Everything helps, and we appreciate the amazing support network that we have.
