Shave for a fire fighter

Donation protected
So I'm sure you've all heard about the 2 NSW fire fighters that lost their lives last week while fighting bushfires that were threatening 40 NSW homes.

Geoffrey Keaton, 32, and Andrew O’Dwyer, 36, from the Horsley Park brigade, were in a truck convoy near the town of Buxton late on Thursday when a tree fell into their path, causing the vehicle to roll off the road.

The two men – both fathers of young children – died at the scene after they had been unable to independently free themselves from the crashed truck.

The fatal accident occurred at the end of an exhausting day during which it was feared some 40 homes were lost in Buxton, Balmoral, Bargo and surrounding areas as the Green Wattle Creek blaze tore through the Wollondilly shire.

To help raise money for the families of these two legends I have decided to see how much I can raise by shaving of my beard. The last time I shaved for a charity was about 4 years ago when I raised about $2500. I am hoping to blow that out of the water this time and have set a goal of $10,000.

I know its a tough time of the year financially for a lot of people, but just imagine what these families are going through at the moment and the uncertainty that they are facing. It doesn't matter if you can afford $1, $100 or $1000 because every single dollar raised will help these families through a very difficult time, and the beard will be coming off no matter how much is raised!

I'll let it run for a few weeks and have set a date of January 11th for the shave to take place.

A friend of mine Nathan, that I met through playing around with Bikes was working on the same team as these guys when the accident happened and he will assist in making sure the money goes directly to the two families. Proof that every cent raised was donated will also be provided on.the Facebook event page that will also be created.

I'll start the ball rolling with a $50 donation so please dig deep as every cent raised will go towards making a big difference to these families during a very tough time!

Thanks!
