Invitation to help an Iona College School Family
Dear family, friends, old boys, parents, teachers, caregivers and everyone who loved Shaun,
As many in our community are aware, former student (2017 graduate) Shaun Relph-House tragically lost his life in a car accident on Sunday 10 December. Shaun and his brother Craig were both Iona students and he belonged to many wonderful communities. His passing has deeply affected our community. Our school offers its sincere condolences to Shaun’s family and as a community, we offer support to all who knew him.
The family find much comfort in our extended community's thoughts and prayers and are humbled by the compassion alive within our community and are grateful to the many families who have contacted our School to offer their support. Many people were able to gather on Sunday afternoon to begin the grieving and healing process.
As our community continues to respect the family’s need for privacy at this time, there is a practical action we can take to support them. The School have setup a GoFundMe account to provide families who wish to donate money to support the family with the opportunity to do so. This money is specifically to help provide the resources needed for the funeral costs for Shaun. As we have now reached the initial goal, all further contributions will greatly assist Shaun's family on their long road to recovery from sadness to hope.
We have spoken with the family to make them aware of this gesture. They have asked that we pass on a heartfelt thank you on their behalf for your ongoing prayers, support and generosity.
