Our friend Shauna needs our help

As you may know, our dear friend Shauna Wall's life journey took a drastic turn recently. Several weeks ago she was diagnosed with a rare and tricky stage 4 cancer. We have spent these last few weeks gathering as much information as we can; talking to doctors at the most premier cancer centers, integrative oncologists who specialize in unique new approaches, as well as trailblazers who look towards more natural ways of healing.
Shauna has made the decision to start chemotherapy at Dartmouth for this first round of treatment. This will be a 9-week cycle which should hopefully shrink her tumors and make it easier for her to consider all the other treatments available.
These innovative therapies include cutting-edge cancer treatments like hyperthermic therapy, new methods of infusions, and nutritional programs, etc. With that will come domestic and international flights for treatment, hotel expenses, therapists and medical teams that are not covered by insurance.
Unfortunately for the society we live in, money is often a barrier to integrative and holistic treatments. While Shauna is fortunate to have an employer that provides short-term and long-term disability insurances, these benefits only give her a percentage of her typical income and will not cover the costs of the therapies she will need.
This is where we get to give back all she has given us over the years! In addition to the medical treatments, this money will be used to cover the everyday costs of living: mortgage, food, and normal expenses for the kids. This fund will also help cover her current medical bills, as even with insurance she is already facing a hefty financial burden.
As this is a very tricky cancer, going out of the traditional medical system for additional therapies will give her the best options for a long, and healthy life. Please consider giving as much as you can and make this very trying experience as hopeful and supported as possible.
