Grandma Sharon's Lung Transplant TikTok Telethon

Sharon Wilkens will soon be on the Lung Transplant List through Emory Healthcare of Atlanta. For years she has been suffering from Pulmonary Fibrosis, and her condition has deteriorated to the point at which she needs a double lung transplant ASAP. In an attempt to make a few memories with her four-year old grandson before the transplant, she kindly crafted a pink Power Ranger costume for one of the little girls in his class and sent a letter to the girl's parents explaining the gesture. The girl's father, who had never met Sharon, posted a video of himself reading the letter on TikTok. The video has now been viewed nearly a million times, and will likely soon pass the one million view mark. Countless strangers have commented with prayers and requests to help. 

Although her medical insurance will be paying the majority of the costs of transplant, Sharon will have to pay a portion of the costs out of pocket.  This is an opportunity to help Sharon raise the out of pocket costs. If any amount is raised beyond that, Sharon will be donating that to Emory's Transplant Center to help others like her in need of transplant. This is an opportunity to help her pay your generosity forward to others in need. 

A simple act of kindness for a friend of her grandson, has grown into a viral video that has touched the hearts of nearly a million people. Sharon appreciates the prayers, and any help you can provide. She looks forward to the opportunity to also help others with this fundraiser, and to continue to make memories with grandchildren now and for many years after the transplant.
