Shari Medical Funding for Surgery

Hey guys, I just re-activated my FB account for the first time in over a year. However, I guess some of you know Benito and I went back to the homeland in September to New Mexico to visit together for the first time since moving to Asheville. We were in a terrible car accident in Taos. I was in the passenger seat of our rental car and while both airbags deployed I broke my right arm, both ulna and radius, resulting in surgery on both bones in my forearm and part of my wrist. I'm abundantly grateful that my broken arm is the extent of my physical blow and know in that moment, without question, I was a lucky woman. I'm healing and doing better, and starting physical therapy this week, but still unable to work indefinitely. I've been in the service industry for 12 years and it's killing me that I'm unable to do the job I love and be independent. These funds raised will help cover the costs of the ER at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos and the surgery there, and also the main surgery here at Mission Hospital in Asheville, which took place Sept. 12. I'm now full of titanium, screws, and stainless steel and certainly hope this bionic arm will last me through the ages.  Anything small helps as we figure out how to go forward from here to get me back to normal, and back work. If you know me at all, you know how much my heart and soul lies in New Mexico and how special that place is to me. It was a tragic way to return to The Land of Enchantment after moving away a year and a half ago. But New Mexico is like that. Sometimes it takes you in, and other times it spits you out, which is part of what makes it such a beautiful place. I appreciate your kind thoughts through this heavy and gradual healing process.
