Shannon Mays memorial service fund

Donation protected

Shannon passed away suddenly on Saturday June 12, 2021. Shannon did not have a life insurance policy, so the family is responsible for all costs. Any donations to assist with her funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated. The family has experienced such great loss in the last few years and to lessen the weight of the expense of this would be a subtle relief in all of their anguish. Thank you much for your love and support!

Born April 12, 1987 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of Gregory Allen Mays and Kimberly Ann (Snyder) Mays.

Shannon was a graduate of Waynesboro High School. She had previously worked for Mays Underground where she worked as a locator. Shannon had dimples you wouldn’t forget, with a personality to match. Her life was one filled with lots of love and laughter, as she lived life to the fullest. To know her was to love her, she lit up every room she walked in and left an impression on everyone she met. Her love for her family was unconditional, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for those she loved and she loved hard. Always the first to tell you she loved you and hugged you. Always with her go to line of “I love you baby” she made it known you mattered to her. You could find Shannon dancing to good music in her Justin cowboy boots, fishing and swimming on hot summer days or just riding back roads to catch a beautiful sunset. She is one who truly enjoyed the little things in life and never took a second for granted. When you hear an old country song, see a beautiful sunset, eat some delicious homemade food, think of Shannon and the light she brought into this world and smile thinking of her beautiful imprint she left on everyone she met. Never let a moment pass you by, buy the shoes, eat the cake and live life to the fullest just as she always did.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jamie Mays; maternal grandmother, Blanche Snyder; and paternal grandmother, Bertha Mays.

In addition to her parents, survivors include the love of her life, Caleb Harris; daughter, Destiny Stockman; siblings, Dylan Wright, Justin Robertson, Jesse Wright, Casey Wright and Dreama Wright; maternal grandfather, Louis Snyder; niece, Jasmine Mays; great-niece, Paysleigh Snead; stepdad, Don Wright; and numerous extended family members.

Prior to cremation, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro. There will be no formal services following the evening of visitation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro.
