Help Shania battle Lymphoma!

As many of you may know, Shania is at the beginning of battling B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma in her chest.

On Monday, September 18 Shania complained of chest and stomach pain. Her mom brought her to urgent care that night where they completed an x-ray of her chest and stomach to find that her heart and liver were enlarged. As well as fluid around her heart and in her lungs. She was then brought to Children's hospital by ambulance and was admitted the cardiac ICU.

On Tuesday morning, they took her into surgery where they put a tube in her chest and right lung to drain the fluid. This is where they found abnormal cells in the fluid surrounding her heart and lungs.

Wednesday, Shania went through many extensive tests to find out what was going on with her.

Friday, September 22, 2017 Shania was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma in her chest. These last few days have been extremely hard on her and her family. Even though she has received this hard diagnosis Shania is still in good spirits and being her sweet, sassy self.

Now that the diagnosis has been given the hard work of battling the cancer now begins. Shania will be starting chemotherapy today and will be countinue for the next two years. We are very thankful that her cancer was detected in the early stages and she was given a good prognosis by her oncologist.
