Shang-Chi Private Screening for Kids in Need
To celebrate the release of Marvel's first Asian Superhero movie with Shang-Chi, we're looking to take some of the underprivileged kids in the community a chance to see it on the big screen!
While the COVID-19 Pandemic shut us down for a bit, ReelOutreach is still here and helping kids of all backgrounds enjoy a night at the movies. Last year, we were able to raise funds and put together a Drive-In setup to brings films directly to the kids who need it most.
With Disney keeping Shang-Chi: And the Legend of the Ten Rings completely in theaters, however, we're going to have to adapt. As such, we'll be back in a theater, but have reserved a private screening for the event and only allowing 30 people to attend the screening (with masks in place). This will allow for spacing between the families, and for everyone to be as safe as possible. On top of that, our team is fully vaccinated and will be masked as well.
What We Need
Since our fundraising last year went to our drive-in setup (including a blow-up projector, projector, and more), we're turning back to GoFundMe to help us secure both the theater and enough to cover concession gift cards that we will give out to the kids at the showing.
Any additional funds will go towards our other upcoming events (a Halloween Trunk or Treat drive-in screening) and general costs of running our operation.

At ReelOutreach , our belief is that everyone deserves a night (or day) at the movies and that kids, who have no control over their circumstances, need it the most. With rising costs for tickets and concessions, for many kids the enjoyment of sitting down to enjoy a film is sadly out of reach.
While many consider this a luxury, for kids in need it’s a chance to escape and feel normal. For those in foster care, orphanages, or group homes, the funding simply isn’t available for them to get treated to the movies.
