Shanese Washington Memorial

Shanese Washington loved youth sports, especially basketball, and she was passionate about developing young student athletes both on and off the court.  She coached basketball and volleyball at St. Jerome School in Westchester on a part time basis and this eventually led her to other youth sports endeavors.  Her passion was so deep she left her regular day job and poured her heart and soul into working for FIYA  (a nonprofit that provides interscholastic sports for elementary and middle schools throughout Los Angeles) and she started her own nonprofit sports training program called PIC3 .  Through it all, Shanese displayed the compassionate coaching skills she is best known for, directly impacting the thousands of youths she instructed and impressing her peers and the many families who entrusted her with their children.

On Wednesday April 15, Shanese tragically died from a blood clot that travelled from her leg to her heart.  Her family, friends and co-workers are devastated with her passing.  As Shanese provided for her family, her passing has a financial impact.  For those of you who knew Shanese, we ask that you join us in helping to contribute to this fund which will be used to cover Shanese's family expenses.
