Shane Michael Nelson’s Memorial Fund

As we journey through life we experience the excitement of engagements and weddings, look at life through loving eyes when a new baby arrives, endure residential moves and settle into new positions after a career change... we may deal with health concerns, feel the heaviness after the loss of job or financial setbacks. Essentially we experience the highs and lows of life as they come but nothing ever prepares a loving parent for the life altering devastation of losing a child. My beloved friend Brenda is dealing with this incomprehensible loss. Brenda has the kindest, sweetest spirit and is always so happy! She has eyes that twinkle when she smiles at you and one thing is certain, she LOVES her children and grand babies. Brenda recently received tragic news that her only son, Shane Michael Nelson had been killed. As you can imagine Shane’s parents, sister LeAnn, his children, family and friends are completely devastated. His Mom remembers him in this way:

He was born May 19th, 1981 at 11:52 am. He was beautiful... he was so smart and on the Honor Roll most every year. He grew up in Thornton. He could fix anything! He played baseball and football. When he was 13, his TJFL team won the Turkey Bowl.. He loved every kind of music that you could think of. He taught his sister that love as well. He worked in the electrical and fiber optic field. He always took the time to encourage his family and friends to be what they wanted to be and to follow their dreams. He had a heart of gold and gave it freely. He would give you anything that he had, even if that meant he was left with nothing. He always saw the good in people. He stood up for what he believed in even if that meant he was standing alone. He has 4 beautiful kids; aged 15, 14, 11, and 3, who he loved with all his heart.

We’re asking for help—to relieve his grieving family of as much of the financial obligations as possible so they can focus on the journey of healing and taking care of each other. With help, we can properly celebrate Shane’s life. It would allow his family to take necessary time off from work without feeling rushed to return. God willing enough is raised so annuities can be set up for his beautiful children; Jesmalyn, Shane Jr., AnaLisa and Marcus who now have to navigate through life without their father.

On behalf of the Nelson, Vigil and Hack families, thank you for your donations! Please continue to lift each of them in prayer and positivity in the coming days, weeks and years. Due to the nature and details surrounding the case, their need for privacy is important and is being requested. It will be a long road. Help them feel both loved and supported during this tragic time in their lives. Donations can also be sent directly to Brenda Vigil via Zelle (this option will be available within the next day or so). ♥️
