Shalimar Restaurant Re-Opening in Nashville

Thank you, Nashville.

Our small family restaurant has been around for 30 years in Green Hills has seen Nashville grow through many ups and downs. We've recently been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and there is also a need to expand the intersection next to which we are located. Due to these and mounting financial pressures, we've been forced to close our doors at the end of May 2020.

We are humbly appreciative of the love Nashville has shown us and the thousands of loyal customers that are like family to us. The owner, Mobeen Ahmad, will never forget the birthdays, weddings, wedding proposals, and family gatherings held at the restaurant. This is an emotional time for the whole family. You have made Shalimar Restaurant a pillar of the community in Nashville and we want to serve you once again in the future. 

Due to the outpouring of love and support from the community, we've decided to start this GofundMe aimed at re-opening the restaurant. We've received tons of messages asking us to stay open, and stories from friends who were impacted by our cuisine and customer service. Many of these messages insisted that we start a GofundMe to try and re-open. We believe that as a small business, we can still survive if the community loves and supports us, and that has been reflected in Nashville's reaction to hearing that we are closing. 

The owner, Mobeen, initially did not want to reopen due to a few health concerns, but his spirits were lifted and sustained by the love customers have shown him since we announced the closing. He's committed to re-open in Green Hills if conditions allow, and this campaign will help us in achieving that goal. Please contribute what you can, and share this campaign as much as possible!
