Have You Ever Wondered?

Looks unending right? Well then, let me not bore you. The good news is, I have one specific, clear, and concise life mission... to find answers to the non-rhetorical questions. Hold on while I break it down.

I'm organizing this GoFundMe:

·        To continue the research and development of my project software and start a coaching program. 

·        We need to consolidate my bootstrapping expenses and finish the prototype learning management system (LMS) so we can pilot it with themeltingclass.com, then expand to many other schools and communities.

Humanity, financial stability, and community are the topmost important aspects of this endeavor. Truth is, this good work borne from my innate passion is on the verge of failing or succeeding.

How the Hair-Raising Passion Started: MY STORY

My name is Shafik.  I'm a first-generation American who is the first to finish my higher education in the family. In the beginning, I had a lot of pressure to go into medicine but in my heart, I was an artist. I studied behavioral neuroscience to satisfy my family and theatre to satisfy my soul. 

I funded my education through student loans and the debt started to weigh on me after I graduated. This made me think hard.  I was compelled to spend days and nights trying to design a system that allows individuals to find their purpose and develop their marketable skills around it to close the skills gap that businesses write about. 

During my graduate school studies in cognitive sciences in education, it happened! I ended up using my exposure to theatre and human development to design a curriculum that matches students based on common interests and complementary skill sets and allows them to apply what they're learning in school to real-life projects.  



 In 2014, I founded my Limited Liability Company (LLC) with the sole goal of considerably connecting humanity's network. I continued to refine the system to improve human performance, metrics, and motivation based on my experience in social science research, employment as a teaching artist, and exposure to data science and blockchain technology.

This translated to an innovative company that provides students, schools, artists, and entrepreneurs with a suite of software tools that allow them to be who they are, do what they love, discover their community, and eventually contribute to society with purpose and passion.

 And so far, what I've built over the years appears to be promising, that with continued unwavering effort, a future with no student debt, decreased skill gaps, and a world with a more equitable distribution of wealth will be possible.

 
But then, HOW FAR SO FAR?

I had set it up as a non-profit and piloted it at various high schools and youth programs in NYC. But certainly, because some missions cannot simply survive without a dedicated team and reasonable financial source, I burned out after some time. Many hats to wear, coupled with the team that I couldn't afford to support.

 
 MY ASK: the only way forward

For a long time, I have been the Jet and the Fuel, but can you help me fuel the jet?

My ask is a minimum of $300,000. What for? Well, there's a ton of expenses that the money goes to, from research and legal to marketing and software development. If we're going to kick this hard, then we're going to need the resources to actualize the already stated hair-on-fire mission. The funds will help position the project to go to market and receive proper angel investments.
