SF Apt fire ~ faulty space heater blew up

https://ohsonline.com/articles/2018/08/23/space-heater-recall-reannounced-after-death.aspx Friday evening after dinner I came home to my bedroom on fire.  The first thing that came to my mind was my dog, calling his name.  I couldn't see anything but flames and smoke.  It was hot, couldn't breathe.  After grabbing my roommate and running out of the building, the firefighters worked quick to contain the fire in our unit. They found my dog about 20 min from evacuating the building.  I rushed him to SPCA after inhaling all that smoke for so long, he now has an ulcer in his right eye and is slowly healing.   I lost a lot and embarrassed to say I didn't have renters insurance.

I've been quite, stressed, in shock, going through the damage Saturday, talking with neighbors, not knowing what the next steps were with management.   I  didn't know if I was going to stay in SF or start fresh in a new city.

Management will start renovations after Presidents Day and hopefully back in the apartment by the 1st.  I can slowly start to furnish my apartment over the next few months but looking to replace most my bedroom furniture, work supplies, and inventory that I lost in the fire.
In the meantime, I'll be staying with friends until I get my apartment situated.

I'm ok, I know I'll get over this.  Thank you for your support!
