Sewing Scrubs for our NHS

We are a growing group of crafters in Hertfordshire who have been requested  to make scrubs for Stoke Mandeville Hospital , Luton and Dunstable Hospital, Watford General Hospitals as well as St Joseph's Care Home in Tring, Willen Hospice in Luton, the Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted and Woodland Park Residential Home in Great Missenden.  These requests have come directly from coordinators at these health care facilities. 


All hospitals, hospices and care homes are helping to deal with the coronavirus crisis and supplies of scrubs are very  short. 

We have been granted permission to follow the hospitals own guidelines to make scrubs which will hopefully help keep our workers safer. 

As we are a local group of volunteers, we have experience to sew but are unable to cover the cost of the fabric needed. 

We are currently fundraising to cover costs of fabric and theads that are needed. 

All fabric will be sewn by our volunteers and donated for free. There is NO cost to the care facilities or their staff. We do not make profit from anything we make. 

We have a surpassed our original target to sew 500 scrubs. Now we are aiming for even more scrubs to try to meet the requests coming in.

This is obviously quite an urgent request as the hospitals across the country have very limited supply of scrubs and the situation is only getting worse. 

There are many sewing initiatives happening across the country  but ours is focusing on the specific requests from our named hospitals, hospices and care homes. 

They have given us all so much. Its time we try to give back where we can.
