Start a Non-profit for ABA's in DC

Donation protected

Applied Behavior Analysis treatment, for autism or other disabilities, is not required in large group, small group, self-insured or state-employee insurance programs in the District of Columbia.  Currently, ABA is included in the Affordable Care Act model forDC as an essential medical condition.  We want to advocate that ABA be assured in all levels of insurance coverage for those who need these treatment services.

We need support, particularly from behavior analysts that live or work in D.C., families who receive, or want to continue to receive,  ABA services in DC, and co-workers, neighbors, friends and extended families of persons who benefit from ABA services in DC, to create an affiliate chapter of ABAI and APBA in the nation’s capital metro area– The District of Columbia Association for Behavior Analysis, or DC ABA.

We are now an official affiliate chapter of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).  Our next goal is to incorporate as a nonprofit to become an affiliate of the Association for Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA).  We can only do that with an adequate amount of support.

It is our goal to create awareness of behavior analysis and its credibility in the general public and governing bodies, as well as share in the missions of ABAI and APBA.

DC ABA will be organized, and shall be operated exclusively for, charitable, educational, and scientific purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(6) or 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. In furtherance of these purposes, the DC ABAshall be committed to advocate for legal recognition of the science of behavior analysis and its associated technologies by endorsing behavior analytic client-centered therapy, ethics, and research by credentialed practitioners within the District of Columbia.

Your donation be used to cover our startup fees to  secure non-profit status.  We hope to keep membership fees low so that therapists and families can afford to participate.  Visit our website at: www.districtaba.org

Help us raise the kickstart funds needed to begin this worthwhile effort.
