"2) Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3) because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4) Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5) If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6) But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." -- James 1:3-6
Hello everyone,
My name is Larina Bourne, and as most of you all have seen in the news, Hurricane Harvey has hit the Houston area pretty severely. Unfortunately, a family near and dear to my heart, the Servin family has been affected by this storm.

Lydia and Everardo Servin are the two hardworking and loving parents of two intelligent and beautiful children, Edward and Celia, who no longer reside with them in the city of Houston. Edward and I attend Union University College of Pharmacy in Jackson, TN together. He is my best friend/classmate/partner. He and his family mean the world to me. They have embraced me as family with open arms, and I would like to help them in their time of need.

They need your prayers, your encouragement, and any help they can get.  As of late yesterday (08/27/17) they have evacuated their home safely with their dog, Roxy, and have found temporary residence with a friend of the family who was kind enough to take them in. However, their home and two cars have flooded. Their two children are unable to be with them at this time (so keep them lifted up in your prayers as well).

Currently, we are unsure of all the things that have been lost, damaged, or completely destroyed by this flood, but we do know it will take a significant amount of time and money to get their home up and running again. I have set a goal of $10,000 because I don't own a home, but I know it's not easy or inexpensive to rebuild. They will need to replace furniture, clothes, appliances, food, vehicles, tools, etc; restore and rebuild anything affected by water damage in their home; and still afford their daily expenses.

I ask of you:

Your prayers will go further than you can imagine! They are in a time of great distress and anxiety. Your prayers and encouraging words can keep them going and stregthen their faith.
"16) Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17) For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18) So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." -- 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Your donations and support, any amount will be welcomed and appreciated. No amount is too small, all gifts are welcomed. If you would like to help in other ways, then reach out to me please, and I will ask the family other ways people can help. If you cannot help monetarily or physically, do not be discouraged! Your thoughts, kind words, and prayers are enough.
The funds raised here will be only accessed by the Servin family to apply where they deem necessary-- to replace damaged/destroyed property in the flood and/or any medical attention that may be required. The funds will be withdrawn by Mrs. Servin when she has assessed the damage that was done and needs access the money.
I thank you all in advance for your help and your kind hearts! I am believing that this storm will soon pass and that all the people affected will receive the assistance they need to get back on their feet again. Believe with me!
