Service Dog for Taylor (:
Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Taylor. On December 21, 2015 I underwent a routine ankle surgery that changed my life. During the surgery I had a complication with the anesthesia I was given and I now require supplemental oxygen. After two years of doctors visits and rehabilitation, I have recently been able to start going to college again, at Embry-Riddle, which has been amazing. I love being given the the opportunity to go to school and continue my education in aerospace engineering.
I have been looking into getting a medical alert service dog for myself to help mitigate my symptoms. After doing extensive research on finished dogs verses owner training a dog, I have decided to owner train a dog with the help of a great facility I found in Florida (where I go to school). The average cost of a service dog runs around $20,000 with all the specialized training that goes into them. While a service dog is considered to be a piece of medical equipment, no insurance will cover the cost.
I really believe that a service dog would help immensely and I would appreciate any donations that you are willing to make.
Thank you so much,
Taylor Stroup
