Sergio Quinonez, Esperanza Resort
Don protégé
Greetings, to my Esperanza extended family,
My name is Mauricio Betancur and I have had the pleasure to live at the Esperanza private residences for the past 7 years. Furthermore, I have had the privilege of being a fractional owner for about 15 years. During all of this time I have had the honor to get to know Sergio Quinonez, not only as a friend but as an extension of my family, a family that I have created at my beautiful home in Cabo.
It saddens me to say that our dear friend Sergio is no longer employed by Auberge, at the Esperanza. My opinion is that Mr. Quinonez was treated completely unfairly during his departure, which inspired me to create this Go FundMe campaign, which I have never done before.
It is my wish that we will all come together to help both Mr. Quinonez and his family during these difficult times. After 20 years of hard work and dedication at the Esperanza, Sergio was let go with an unjustifiable retirement amount of $5,000. Think about this for a moment, this breaks down to .68 cents per day, for each day Mr. Quinonez put forth his dedication to the Auberge Corporation. To me, this is embarrassing, to know this is the case for someone who treated our families with the upmost loyalty, respect and honor during his 20 years of service.
If you know Sergio the way that I do, I know you understand how hard he worked to allow us all to enjoy the beautiful memories created at the Esperanza. Now its time for us to give back. As you can see, there are over 400 recipients to this email. If each of our families contribute $250 we can very easily reach our campaign goal of $100K. I will be the first to kick off this campaign with a donation of $1,000. For me, this donation feels insignificant in comparison to the beautiful memories Sergio helped us all to create of the years. I hope you all will follow me, from the generosity in your hearts. This is simply about doing the right thing for someone who cared so deeply for all of us.
With great appreciation,
Mauricio Betancur
