Sercle Inc Crowdfunding Campaign

My name is Jackie and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Sercle Inc. Sercle Inc was founded by Ijeoma Ndukwe. Ijeoma is from Nigeria and she began writing about sexual and gender-based violence in November 2016, but before then she was researching and reading all she could find on the subject, including its impact on survivors because she needed to learn for herself. As a survivor, knowing how scarce support services are and how difficult it can be to get justice, she took her healing into her own hands, and in that process, Sercle Inc (a public benefit corporation) was founded to help others who have gone through the same things. You could say that through Sercle she forged new meaning and transcended her own experience of sexual assault and the affecting trauma.

Sercle is a global community and impact-driven startup on a mission to create a safe and trusted platform to empower survivors of sexual and gender-based violence to navigate their healing journey through peer support, data-driven insights, digital support services, and survivor-focused education.

Sercle was founded with a simple idea: survivors know what it’s like to live with the impact of SGBV and they can teach us more than we can teach them. We also knew that if survivors had the tools to track their own progress and compare themselves to others who have gone through the same things, they could learn more about how to improve their outcomes.

Sercle is developing a mobile app and a community platform with machine learning to provide access to affordable virtual therapy services and a safe space where survivors can connect with others who have gone through the same things to receive peer support and go through their healing journey without the pressure or the expectation to “just get over it” and “move on.”

Different from other services, Sercle is community-based and offers the opportunity for any survivor in any corner of the world who can connect to the internet to have instant access to peer support, psychological services, education, helpful tools, and other resources from counselors.
