Sepsis has almost killed him… We need help!!

My child was dying before my eyes! Sepsis attacked Jacob while he was still very young. His condition worsened by the second. Doctors did not know if he would survive ... I was mad with despair, fear, pain, helplessness, it is impossible to describe ... But it was all replaced by determination. Jakub, although very crippled, survived. And today we are fighting to make it work. I wholeheartedly ask for help so that my son can undergo another necessary, but very expensive operation.



I remember those moments very clearly as if it were yesterday. The sound of an ambulance taking my son to the hospital, the smell of the corridor, the pain somewhere inside ... It comes back very often, especially when I look at the cruel scars she left with a century of sepsis. Jakub was hospitalized in a critical condition. Only the heart was still beating… They said it was not known if he would survive. They made no guarantees, but I prayed. Fortunately, God gave my son one more life!

Jacob had enough strength to overcome everything. It turned out, however, that this is not the end of our fight ... Sepsis caused necrotic changes on the legs and hands. The fingers could not be saved ... The left foot suffered the most - this is where the greatest tissue loss is. And then our fight for the effectiveness of Jakub began ...

Thanks to the Donors, Jakub underwent his first operation, which was carried out by an outstanding surgeon from the USA, Prof. Paley. He was the only one who gave us hope that Kubuś would regain fitness in his deformed legs and hands!

The first operation was successful, more than a year has passed! Unfortunately, Dr. Paley informed me that meningococcal sepsis had damaged the growth cartilages on the arms and legs. Jacob will have more operations on all limbs.

I did not know this before, because the doctors who treated my son in the UK previously concealed information about his real health. If it weren't for Dr. Paley's objective opinion, my son wouldn't have had a chance to live a normal life! During the first collection, doctors from Edinburgh were against the operation, they advised me not to do it, explaining that he was too small and that I did not think about my son's future. Doctors who, during a visit to a hospital in Edinburgh, discovered that my son had damaged growth plate, were surprised to explain the continued growth of skin on the legs and hands that remained after the disease, confirmed the diagnosis of Dr. Paley.
Doctors in the UK do not have a further treatment plan for Jakub to monitor closely. It is very hard for my son to move, so I cannot let my son be condemned to a wheelchair.

I would like Jakub to have a chance for a normal life, so further operations are needed. I have been fighting for my son from the day he fell ill, and despite the fact that I am a single mother of two children, I will do it as long as I have the strength. Jakub is my happiness and I will do everything to make him more efficient and independent in the future. I do not dream of anything else. Today I can only ask you for help in saving my child from suffering. My child has suffered so much, much more to come, but we are finally on the right track! Don't let us go down ...
