SEPAM Supporting Cathal Shanley

Sepam are aware of Cathal's situation through his brother Tadgh, who is a valued member of our team.

We would like to supoort Cathal in his fight against the terrible disease and and to that end we are paricipating in this years Tipperary Ladies Mini-Marathon.

Cathals Story

Cathal is 39 years old with terminal cancer; stage 4 stomach cancer.   He has been a fit and healthy person competing in triathlon and running events frequently so the diagnosis was a shock.

It has spread to other areas so surgery is not an option. He is getting treatment every two weeks however while they have seen some success in reduction of the tumors it is growing once again and he believes time is in short supply

Cathal has have two young children , Orla who is 2 and Aidan who is just nine months.  He is swallowing his pride for their sake, as he would like them to grow up to know their father .

The amount of money they are aiming for will cover a new treatment provided in Germany and Spain for cancer called ; immunotherapy plus others that the oncologist recommends as treatment for his case.
