Sensory Gardens challenge

A team of staff and governors from Ridgeway Primary Academy and Great Bowden Academy are going to complete a trekathon (50km) on 26th March to raise money for a sensory garden to be created at both schools. This will tie into a community challenge with both schools, where pupils will have a combined effort to walk the distance from Lands' End to John o' Groats. Each week over the spring term, every class will submit the distance walked through the Golden Mile and any extra individual efforts, this will be tallied up and monitored over the term. The children could receive sponsorship which will be put towards the overall amount raised.

 

The sensory gardens will be a fantastic place for children to visit, to improve their emotional regulation and well being in addition to having a great extra area of the playground to visit for calm time.
