Senior Special Needs Cat Alex Veterinary Costs
Donation protected
Alex was found at 12 weeks old in a trash can. He had a hard start in life which has caused him to have more medical problems than the average cat. He only has 1 working kidney, and that kidney recently started having problems: it was no longer making red blood cells causing him to go into multiple organ failure.
He has been receiving injections of Darbepoetin which have been restoring the red blood cells. Four weeks of the medication, veterinary visits to get the injection, and the required weekly blood count to monitor his kidneys and red blood cell level is $1,700:
$550 for a 4 week supply of Darbepoetin,
$650 for blood panels,
$125 for the weekly injection/exam.
I am able to give him the required daily IV fluids at home, but the Darbepoetin and blood panels need to be done by the Veterinarian.
I am asking for help with this month's cost because as of April 30th I will be out of work due to my Company cutting workers (permanently) due to economic impact from COVID19 Pandemic.
Even a $1 donation is appreciated. No amount is too small. Thank you for helping Alex!
